Cooking frenzy

Indeed, more cooking =)
My left-over ham and aubergine curry with egg noodles.
Potato salad with pork luncheon (ham)!
Rice with chicken Kiev, cold tofu and stir-fried vege =)
I bought this red pepper tortilla wrap and it was brilliant =)
Had it with chips and sliced peppers and cucumbers and avocado. LOL!
In my tortilla: Pork Luncheon ham with cucumbers and green peppers on melted mozzarella and cheddar cheese lined tortilla.
Oh I made these too! Nice!!!
Avocado wraps...with melted mozzarella and cheddar cheese, avocado and mayo.
Oh and this too!!! I should open a bar! LOL!
Ham and cucumber wrap with tomato sauce, melted mozzarella and cheddar cheese =)
Yesterday I made a huge pot of curry! Bought chicken after ages...so I decided to use up the packet curry sauce I had.
Ingredients: Chicken drumsticks, potatoes, green and red peppers, onions and spring onions and of course the Thai curry sauce (Alif brand).
Yea, it was a huge pot larh!
Erm sometime this week, I had my 2nd interview with SOVA and after the interview I went to Brixton Market =) I was bored and it was only a tube station away so why not? =D Well it was alright, things were really cheap. I didn't buy alot of things as I didn't have cash with me. Managed to dig out 2pounds? So yea...I bought:
Three LARGE mangoes =)
In supermarkets it's 1.50 each? And for a small one!
This is HUGE! And only 1.20 for three!!! Wooot!
I love mango larh! =D
Ohh btw, I am legally a volunteer mentor with SOVA =) Wonder if I could get a client before leaving =(

Accidental 'crack'

My curry laksa =p
The noodles is like 'pan mee' texture and yes, that is my 'tofu pok'!!!
LOL! Deep fried tofu...haven't had that in ages! However, there wasn't any laksa-ish feel...the curry paste don't have coconut milk in it =( Para he-hawker sekalian...I will haunt you when I'm back!!! LOL!
DON'T ASK WHY, WHAT, HOW!!!
When?...This morning!
My poor toilet seat cover...have to deal with flushing without covering the toilet seat for...2-3days?! Bacteria....*ewwww*
On the bright side...I decided to open the gift from my friend...the oh-so-nice-looking box of Leonidas Belgian Chocolates...
The top layer...
And the bottom layer! Two layers of chocolates...some with liqueurs and spirits. Nice!
Ohh! SOVA training yesterday was fun. Most of the volunteers are mature people...like...really mature. LOL! I think there's like 5 out of 15 around my age and the rest are...'mature'. LOL! Knowing the culture here, they were very keen in voicing out their opinions...and somehow they continue debating till the rest accepts their last say! Yes, mature indeed =.= Basically, I was the ONLY one that didn't manage to say something! Well I tried...I raise my hand and it didn't work. Maybe I should wear more 'blings' on my fingers and arms the next session! LOL! Next training (tomorrow), there will be a 'talking stick' which is in a way better =)

Banana Madness!

Today is the Banana Madness event! I am currently with Junction 49, volunteering to help out in all kinds of awareness campaigns. Recently they're trying to create an awareness for Fairtrade Goods. Hence, they are buying fairtrade bananas from shops and giving them out to people for free. Also, they're trying to break a record too for the most bananas eaten within 24hours =) The current record is a million. No, we are not the only one doing this! We are combining our numbers with other people from different Uni as well. Me and Abhi are the project leaders of this event and unfortunately, the ONLY wo-manpower too! Yes, damn indeed!
We arrived and had three boxes of these bananas waiting for us in the store room. I couldn't carry even one box! It's THAT heavy!
(estimated 13-15bananas in each bag, each box=14/15bags)
I had to run all over Uni to find places to stick these poster up!
Apparently the caretakers were told to rip off any posters around Uni to make the Uni look more professional =.= After loads of running around, I managed to find a suitable place to stick it up, undisturbed!
The balloons to make it...'pop'?!
The task of individualizing bananas =)
When I was taking a break from running around the whole place giving out bananas because people just won't approach the "FREE bananas" booth! After hours of talking and giving out bananas, I had lunch=) Seared tuna with mango bits, some greens, broad beans and roasted new potatoes.
At the booth. I love the tee thou, so cute!
Yes, I'm wearing a yellow mini, a gold sequin head-band and gold nails too =p dress for the occasion!
Support fairtrade goods y'all!
Abhi, my partner in banana-giving (sounds weird but you get me =p)
Came back with some bananas and made banana pancakes for dinner!
My honey crystallized so I garnished it with chocolates and butter. LOL!
Overall, it was a DAMN tiring day but totally fun! Managed to get (damn, I didn't count!) about 250-300 names and signatures for the record and gave out the rest of the bananas! Had a chance to talk to hundreds of people and all of them were really nice =) Will definitely do it again...when time permits. LOL! Oh shoot! I left something in the oven!
Tadaa~ It is crunchy at the top and moist in the middle! Woot!
Banana and sultana cake =)
I am not showing off but OMG, this is SOOOO good!
You can really taste the bananas and the best bit have to be the top, it's crispy! Considering I don't have a whisk, a measuring cup, a kitchen scale, lemon juice (as the recipe called for) and adding vanilla essence (as the recipe DID NOT called for) AND it turned out this way?! Totally satisfied! If only you guys were here to try this out =( LOL! I'm crashing to bed!
