Latest shopa du-doo~

As you can see the dates on the picture itself, my latest shopping was last year =p LOL! Anyway, I was out for some retail therapy and got some deals =) Pictures not that awesome but still viewable so...yeah =) Below are few of the dresses I bought for only 2GBP each!!! Yeah, the shop was closing down so EVERYTHING in the shop was going at 5pieces for 10pds!!! Woooooootss!
Awesome dress above...simple and sweet. LOVE the back =)
Good quality too! It's got lining under the dress!!!

This dress under was also in the 2pds deal. But the jacket is from another shop...Primany =p lol! And it was on sale for 5pds. Love the military detail!

This dress was so flowy and pretty but unfortunately, it doesn't fit! It is not really visible here but the sides are a little too wide...My arms are hiding the extra bits on the side so it looks like a perfect fit. Can't be doing that at a party now...can I? LOL! Return!!! =(

******************

Going back to work tomorrow (acutally today) after a two week Christmas/New Year break. Hopefully I would be as hard working as my bestie, Grace Lee who turns up for work AN HOUR earlier everyday. Bless her! =) That's all from me now! XOs!

Optimistic pessimism?

My first interview went well. It was a full time job thou...as in one day off in a month kind of job. Well, I am not sure if I am able to commit myself to a full time job as yet but I would definitely be glad if I would be given the opportunity to engage in an environment with children =) After all, I might go into Child Psychology in future. I am still awaiting the confirmation from my first interview and we'll see how it goes. Other than that, another interview from another teaching center is coming up...Monday! We'll see how that will turn out =)

Yesterday another interesting happened. I came back from a date *cough* with a friend and as I entered the elevator, two lady was in there with me. One of them said to me "Oh I was just admiring your hair. Is it real?" and I replied "Oh thanks. Yeah it's real". Basically she asked if I would be interested to earn some money at the mean time. Would you say no?! LOL! Well she lives in the same block as me and yeah, I gave her my mobile number. LOL! I hope it is what I think it is but at the same time...good things don't happen that easily. Optimism with a slight hint of pessimism.

Having to battle out pessimism with optimism is never easy. Things happen out of our intentions and as much as we would like to stop doing that stupid ridiculous thing, a certain part of us just do not have the will power to over come that pessimism. People around us could only advice us and remind us what we are getting ourselves into, we have to take charge from there. Do I have the will power to change something I know is wrong and make it right? I honestly do not know.

Ever been in a state whereby you think you knew it all and that you could control yourself to do what is right but you just couldn't when you are in that situation? Yeah, it certainly feels horrible. Never been in that situation? Well, imagine if you're given a chance to give your love and care to someone, would it be on 5 needy children or on your prince charming. Who would you plant your tlc on? People out of that situation might think that it is wiser to give it to 5 needy children than on one person. If you have a prince charming, would you sacrifice all your tlc for THE ONE and give it to 5 other strangers? If you say yes, who are you kidding?! Like...honestly?!

I've learnt that life's not a bed full of roses, somewhere in the bed of roses is a mistake one made...a thorn left to hurt us to remind us that we are in the real world. Never to assume that there is no thorns left in the bed of roses made for us. Watch out for a thorn after indulging in the scent of a beautiful rose, to just be prepared to handle the thorn that might be hiding under the bed of roses...

The end. Another begining.

No more waking up at 7am, swallowing breakfast in the morning, running out to catch the bus, and so on. Work is now over. Honestly, it is kind of sad...I would really miss it. Despite all of the above, I still like that job. Anyway, I was given a little farewell! We had Victorian sponge cake with strawberries, Chocolate log, and Lemon Cupcakes. It was DELICIOUS! Really thoughtful. My manager gave a little speech and said I had been a 'STAR' =) Awwwww.

Right after work that day, I had to rush to Bonda Cafe, a Malaysian Restaurant to buka puasa with the rest. Lately I have been really close with my housemates and the 'Wood Green Gang'. LOL. Wish I moved in earlier. Anyway, we all had our dose of Malaysian food (totally yummeh but mahal!) and then we decided to...do something.

That night, I polluted my lungs. LOL! We went to Marble Arch/Edgware...a street full of night life. That whole street is filled with Arabian Restaurants and....Shi-Sha =p Yes, I did it! I was freaking scared to begin with but EVERYONE was smoking, even the most innocent girl smoked! Hence, peer pressure la...LOL! (High external LOC! =p) We had three Shi-ShaS for 10 of us but one didn't smoke at all, he had migraine. So the 9 of us shared Apple, Grape, and Mixed Fruit flavoured Shi-Sha. I don't know how many puffs I swallowed! Meaning, no smoke came out when I take in. It take quite some time for me to learn. LOL! It was really fun but I didn't feel anything (supposed to feel 'high' I heard?!) =.=

Anyway, we were there smoking till pass midnight...again, we had to run to catch the last train (yes, it happened before...with the same group of friends =p). When we heard the announcement about the last train arriving, we raaaaaan like a bunch of hooligans...actually, everyone there was running. LOL! If we missed the train, I have no idea what bus or how many buses to take to get back home! We never learn =p Then we reached the tube station nearby our house. To get to our house, we need to pass by Asda. So we went in as we needed to get ingredients for kuih raya. We shopped at 1am in the morning till 2am =.= walked 15minutes in the freezing cold weather back home. Then I Sahur-ed with my housemates. I was so hungry that I cooked maggie goreng at that hour!

Yesterday (Saturday) we woke up at 12pm and started preparing the kitchen. Kak Zela was VERY prepared. She had her laptop and speakers ready in the kitchen. When we were about to start, the songs were about to start too...when it begin, Fuh~ Semangat Hari Raya! LOL! Kak Zela played Hari Raya songs and 'Balik Kampung' songs. It totally reminded me of Kamdar in Malaysia during this season. LOL! Anyway, we made LOADS of cookies. I think few hundred Almond London cookies, three dozen peanut butter cookies, Mexican buns (aka RotiBoy), and a huge butter cake. I swear, it would make a great commercial for Malaysia. The ladies of different races in PJs baking Raya cookies with Raya songs. So the muhibah! LOL!

Pictures soon to come =) Hanni is going back tomorrow =( The house will not be the same without her. I will be flying back to Malaysia in 10days...and I haven't packed a thing! Sei lorh!!!!!!

Work #2

Today was my first day working in my Uni as a Graduation Marshall. I am not exaggerating but my legs are literally DEAD! I am feeling the PAIN! Well I am assigned to be in the marque so we have to stand all the time! Three ceremonies a day and from 8am till 7pm! SHIATE MAN!

But...the experience is something. I am glad I took this job. It is pretty fun =) Hell tiring but fun! We get to see people graduate and it is really a nice feeling. Oh and I get to bring two cute little girls to the toilet (holding their hands) and back to their seat as they were there all alone to see their mother graduate. How sweet!!! Yes, there were accidents but it all went well as action was taken really quickly when there was a problem. They even provided us lunch =p We even get to eat leftover tarts (super expensive ones and they can't keep it for tomorrow because they want it fresh) from the reception after we finish work. NICE!

Would like to elaborate but I am dead tired! Haven't been getting up 6am in AGES! My new routine for a week. Great!

On the other note, my housemates are big jokers. They make living in a house so much more fun. Halls are nice because of the privacy but their humour in the house...priceless!

Mum arriving tomorrow. Woot!

The life.

It's Friday!!!!!!!!!!!
Now I know why working people love Fridays and hence the TGIF! LOL! I like my job but it is just tiring. I am not complaining but I only have 6hours of sleep everyday (normally I need to have at least 8hours!) and the transportation to work is not the best. Well, welcome to the working world you say? I know. LOL!

I went to the accommodation office to enquire about the time we need to return the keys on 22nd June and they say by 10am. NICE! My friend is helping me move out in the evening of 22nd June! I asked if they would allow just till the end of the day and...lets say they are harsh mean people!!! Hmph! Anyway, I would have to ask if my friend could do it on the 21st instead. Mike is returning on the 21st itself and he would have to come and help me out. Poor thing =p

Worst of all, I haven't pack. Just 3-4 more days to move out (excluding weekdays as I do NOT have the time to pack at all!) and I only have a garbage bag sized winter clothes packed up. Great. I need to do something!

Anyway, I took half day off from work today as I had to go Uni to attend to something. Oh oh oh...Today is BC's Birthday! Woooot! But she just got back from Ireland so me and Ching Yee couldn't celebrate with her today. Either tomorrow or Sunday.

As I was typing this post, I called Ching Yee to remind her about meeting Keshia for lunch one Sunday. Then:
*Message from Ching Yee*
Results out already.

Anxiety FLOODED in! Too high till I pressed the 'END CALL' button when she said 'Hello?' =.= pai seh! So yes, I checked and.................I have every reason to be emo! It wasn't what I expected (definitely expected higher) but....it's the final class that counts?! Yeah...I'd like to think of it that way. At least I didn't fail any and......it's the final degree class that counts! LOL! There's more to life than dwelling over something you could not change. So...I am graduated?! Woooooooooot! Technically I am but still need to wait for Graduation Ceremony. I think. LOL!

Aih.....EMO larh! Luckily the pair of shoes I spotted on ASOS yesterday is gone today. If it was still selling, it's definitely added to my collection! Well the degree class was expected...just that the individual grades are a little disappointing. ROAR! Going to watch 'Apartment' and hopefully pack some of my stuff by today.

Ben & Jerry's would do great at a time like this! Dorrito's Tangy Cheese (Sharing Bag) is a satisfactory replacement anyway...and I am not SHARING!

First day at work.

First day in an insurance company for my work (experience). Well, lets say I haven't heard of the words...'premium', 'quotation', 'sum insured' and many more insurance jargon for a loooooooong time. Actually, since when I was physically away from my mum. LOL! Actually I was glad I stuck on to her like a magnet all those years when she was working as it really did helped me grasp what on earth these words meant and how the whole insurance thing work.

There were two similar aged people working there too to gain work experience (like me), one is Ken (my relative's friend) and the other is Coco (a girl whom I worked with during CNY 08). [Totally unrelated, her bf is Naija too! LOL! And she is addicted to black (no racial discrimination intended) people like a fat kid loves cake!!! No, I am not addicted to them but I don't hate them either. Colour really doesn't matter to me, the individual as a person is what matters most.] Anyway moving on, I arrived 20minutes earlier and someone finally gave me a task like half an hour later!

As usual, being at work the first day, everything was done so quickly (I am very the semangat). I kept bugging them for work to do! LOL! There was quite a lot to do if you know what to do but I am still learning as I am not familiar with the process yet. What I find most interesting is that they actually SPEAK in Cantonese to their clients. Technically, it shouldn't be a problem for me but OH MY LORD!!! I was given the most tough task EVER on my first day! I was asked to make calls to clients to remind them that their policy is due in a week time and if they want to renew it, I had to remind them to pay up. This is so high school treasurer's job...a.k.a. LOAN SHARK! LOL! Honestly, I almost pee in my pants when I was given that task. It was my first day at work, first time calling up strangers, first time speaking fully in Cantonese after ages, first time using insurance terms IN CANTONESE! HOLLY tuuuuut!

One of my colleague thought me what to do and how and she did a few examples for me to see how she spoke to clients. Then it was all up to me. Seriously, my fingers were like frozen and ready to fall off anytime! I was THAT nervous! DUH! Trust me, I bet the client was blur with what I said. Not to mention the addressing part! You know how Chinese surnames are not pronounced similar to English pronunciations?! For example, Mr. Lee=Lei Sang, Mrs. To=Dou Tai, Miss Lim=Lam Siew Che etc. Knowing I am not from a Chinese educated background, this IS my worst nightmare! Till now I still don't know how to pronounce my company's name properly in Cantonese. LOL! It's either Wan Kau or Wan Dau, similar =p

I did some minor paperwork too like filing and photocopy and also sending out letters. It is so funny how everything had to be rushed before 4pm for the postman to collect =s That was madness! Anyway, according to my work experience colleagues, I was considered lucky to have done what I did today (basically the calling up clients part) as they did not even do that on their first day! Hmm...maybe I am but the anxiety was definitely not positive! Freak the sh*t out of me! But hey, am getting the hang of it =D

Oh yea...I forgot to bring snacks and I didn't notice my appetite increased. Being the super hero, I didn't bring snacks and only had a small bowl of muesli this morning. My tummy grumbled LOUDLY just an hour before my lunch time and again an hour before off work time. Damn! I reached home at 7.30pm. I swear, I could SWALLOW a cow! Need to slowly re-train my tummy =(

This is the time to reset my biological clock. Hope this post was not boring as it was purely words. LOL! Watched 13 going on 30 (again) while swallowing my cow. Time to think what to wear for tomorrow and what to bring for lunch and...I am going to bed!

Celebration of love pt.2

Sorry for the super late updates! LOL! The weather these few days have been a blast, sunny and cooling (not freezing), NICE! Anyway, Valentine's Day...most people I know don't like celebrating this particular day because they are single. Common people, it's not just lovers' day! There's no harm in spending it with your friends or even family =) Or in Nick's case, with food that he was craving for at the time...Malay food. LOL!

I spent THE day with Michael (a.k.a. Mike). Totally had great fun =) I got him (more like us) a pendant and as you can see, it's a couple's pendant. He's got the outer bit and mine, the feminine one =D
Mine can fit into his pendant...total cuteness!
Made him a card too! I sew the outline with thread =p
The inside of the back cover, a very nice meaningful poem =)
And guess what he got me?! The BEST gift I've ever had for Valentine's...
WOOOOOOOOOT!!!!!!!!!!!!
Nop, it's not a double illusion...it really IS DOUBLE!!!
Even the box is sooo pweety!
*Faints*
My mind literally went berserk when he gave me these two boxes! Now that I've regained consciousness, I still revert to my super duper high moments every time I think/look/see/touch/feel/dream about it! This is way 'higher' than orgasms! Literally...LOL!
It matches my nail colour! =p
Look at that CHARM!!! "Miss February"
Waaaaaaaaaa! *jumps in JOY*
The face of the watch is big...NICE!
*Breath in, breath out* I still can't get over the excitement! If I am a b*tch, I would be the luckiest b*tch ever! =p LOL! Sorry for the crude-ness but I am still high about it! LOL!
Anyway, I'm free from Sports World now! No longer working there! Woooot! It's good because I can concentrate more on my studies and less temptation to buy clothes/shoes! Although so, SW didn't let me off with the last day...while I was putting out the clothes to the shopfloor from the rails, the sight of a new Playboy top made me *ROAR* At first it was all Size 14 so I thought maybe it's a sign to not get it. THEN, out of all the 14s there's one and only one 12! It IS a sign! No staff % but it was only 3GBP *halo on my head*
I tried to resist =p
The (sexy) back
Check out the matching watch!
WOOOOOOOOOOT!
And I made another bread and butter pudding with caramelized apples topped with custard =p
*******************************************
Last but not least, THANK YOU a million to that special someone who made me break my own record for being HIGH for the longest duration...I still am very excited about the watches *widest smile ever*
I HEART U!

Yum yums =)

My Uni's new building technology...Oh yea they use all Mac stuff =s They look pretty thou =p
Super flat keyboard and screen! And a cute mouse too. LOL!
Dinner that day: Seafood vege pasta with white sauce.

Dinner yesterday:
Chinese cabbage and onion omelet
With chicken fried rice.
Dinner tonight:
Maggie mee =p But forgot to take picture. LOL! I was too excited as I finally bought my ramekin cases! =D Now I can make single serving desserts and sweets!!!! Wheeeeeeeeee~ Obviously I couldn't resist trying my first experiment with my new ramekins!
Raw chocolate lava cake.
Baked chocolate lava cake! Like a muffin! LOL!
The top is crunchy! Okay the middle is supposed to have a runny chocolaty sauce but I over cooked it =.= So it's basically a cake! LOL!
Closer look! LOL! Just teasing you guys! =p
I'll attempt to make a proper chocolate lava cake (with a runny center) next time =)
I ran away from work today =p LOL! Not really but my manager told me I had to stay for stock-take today AGAIN! I seriously don't know if he was joking or not. Obviously I was pissed when he told me that in the morning! Spoilt my mood for half the day! Then I decided to leave at 4pm sharp (which was my initial shift) no matter what the consequences...I'm already leaving the job anyway =p When my shift ended, I quickly sneak to the entrance of the shop and got checked out by a different manager (who doesn't knows anything about this) and didn't turn back! LOL! I kept my phone on silent, just in case my manager decided to call me back to work!
Deadlines are sooooooo close! Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek! Focus Mel, Focus!!! OMG I'm so dreaming of that Playboy watch at Argos! But I promised to stop shopping for the time being...*SIGH*

I RESIGNED!

Today I had an appetizing lunch =)
Boiled potatoes with green pesto (herbs+olive oil) and melted cheddar cheese!
Walked to Uni and had the worst journey ever! Walking on ice is no fun!
I almost fell couple of times but managed to balance myself. There was a girl behind me and I bet she's laughing at my noob trainer-skating skills!

I over made the portion of my lunch so I made a light dinner at 8.30pm:
Mix vege soup: Cabbage, tomatoes, onion and carrot.

Oh yea! I gathered my guts and handed in my resignation letter today! I stood outside the shop for 10minutes trying to gather those guts. I don't know why I was so nervous but there goes 10minutes of my life worrying about something insignificant =.= Yes, I do that a lot! Unfortunately. LOL!
Hopefully the weather is not as bad tomorrow. Earlier today the weather forecast says there will be snow+rain. Now it's just rain. Wonder if it'll change again tomorrow morning? Maybe. Oh, and predicted snow AGAIN on Saturday. Hmm...

Goodbye SW

Today I was supposed to go to work but after less than 10steps out my flat building, I went back in. There was a guy walking pass me and he said, 'You better change your shoes, there's no way you can wear that'. Great! I was wearing my trainers and that wasn't enough?! I don't know what else to wear. LOL! So I called up my manager and had a 'argument' with him on the phone. Well basically he wants me to be at work and I quote:

"You will have to find a way to get to work!"
"I know it's slippery, it's slippery for me to drive to work too"

...exactly my point! Drive! That's like door to door?! I have to walk 20 minutes to the bus stop and then take the bus and then walk another 10minutes to the shop! Trust me, the floor is just not walk-able! I called up the cab company and they say it costs about 8pounds for me to get to work. That's one and a half hours of my pay! Why would I want to do that?! Madness!
Sisa-sisa salji on the roof top this morning.
All white with loads of footsteps.
The car on the left is my flat mate's car. LOL! So cute.
Foot prints and melted ice by mid-day.
It's just cute how the snow takung at the branches...LOL!
Dinner tonight:
Seafood carbonara with potatoes, carrots and cabbage.
Up close...it's just appetizing =p
Back to the work topic, I didn't go to work and I sent my manager a text. That is it! And I have decided to quit my job. It's taking too much of my time. I BELIEVE I would have enough to last me throughout the year, provided I don't start shopping =p So yes, I've already printed out the letter and I will hand it in this Friday =)

Snow snow snow

Told you I was on a Maggie craze...LOL!
Day before's dinner, 'maggie kari' with seafood, veg and egg.
CNY nails...looks weird but it follows the theme! Usual red and gold. LOL!

The weather in London at the moment is...nice+horrible. LOL! Yesterday it started snowing at night and it snowed till this morning and throughout the day till now, which is at night. I went to the cinema yesterday evening and when I got out of the cinema, shock of my life! It's ALL white! Nice sight thou =p But I had to walk in the snow and that was an experience I wouldn't want to go through again. LOL!
The car parks are filled up with snow!
This is just the beginning. You could still see the road.
Today, it was just major! Snowing throughout the day! There was no transport to anywhere and schools (and my uni) are even closed on this occasion. LOL! Nice =p Unfortunately, Sports World is still open...duh! Poor staffs...and I am working tomorrow =( So poor me too!
My boot-print =p Look how deep it was! And this was when the snow slowed down a bit.
Tonight, the tree branches and trunks are coated with snow and the pavements are also covered in thick snow.
Wonder how the weather will be tomorrow. Hope it will snow so I won't have to go to work =p LOL! CNY updates soon =)
Btw, this is the heaviest snow in London since 1980's...cool! LOL! Check out the snow video below:

3rd day...

I woke up late today...and so I thought I could catch the earlier bus and eat at McD when I get to Brent Cross. For some reason, the road was super jam and left me with 15minutes to eat =.= I quickly ordered an EGG McMuffin meal (comes with a hash brown and coffee) and munch down as quickly as I could. I didn't even take a sip of the coffee as it was too hot (I even added three caps of semi-skimmed milk to cool it further but it was too hot =p) so I decided to drink it while walking there. As soon as I took five steps out the shopping complex, my coffee cooled =.= No joke! It's madness cold! Again, no picture...because I don't want to look like a jakun in McD!
This was my lunch...lol! Had it at work during break time.
I had a cup of Milo and some biscuits for tea and was munching nuts while chatting with Grace and Nick. Wanted to have dinner but we had some intense topic going on so I didn't really feel hungry =p
Time flies...chat and chat and it's already 9pm and I haven't had dinner. LOL!
Then I made dinner =p
Baked beans, sweetcorn and onions...LOL!
Because my dear friend needed me online, I had to grab what was available and get back on msn ASAP =p My dear friend, touched?! LOL! See you don't need a man when you have me =D Okay that sounds wrong but you know what I mean...if you really need a guy, I'm sure Nick is willing to sacrifice himself =p LOL! Stay strong!!! *Hugs* Oh yea! So because of this, discretion towards my diet? 1 and a half weeks? =p
It's -7 outside...seriously mad! It was snowing yesterday night and the night before. I didn't even know...until the next morning =p LOL! I think my employer underpaid me...going to sort it out (and do some shopping =p). Damn!

Oxford street deal

8am in the morning, I heard men talking along the corridor. They were supposed to come and refurbish the kitchen tomorrow but the amount of noise they are making makes me think that it might be today! My stuff in the kitchen (which is supposed to be packed in a box) is still in the kitchen! *EeeeK* I sprang out of bed and went to the accommodation office to get the box. I packed my stuff and obviously one box wasn't enough (but one resident is only allowed one) =.= Luckily I had a spare box with me.

I saw the maintenance guy and he say they're ripping the cupboards tomorrow but just doing some painting today. Anyway, I packed my stuff and went to take my shower. Then I had a little chat with one of my best gf and I read her blog. It hurt me so bad reading what I read. Love can really make you blind. (Ps: I know how so very much you love him, girl but CLEARLY he's not worth 1% of your love!) Seriously, that is one f*cked up guy. Don't tell me you love her and all that sh*t! Stop playing her and grow up from your immature spoilt life! Sorry but I can't stop hating you for what you did to her. And I know alot of people will hate you for that too =)

After that horrible news, it was time for me to get ready to go Oxford street and meet up with Hwei Ming =) Our Kasturi brother all the way from Manchester. LOL! Yea, I last saw him when we were in Kasturi...that's like in 2005!!! Man, we're getting old! So yea, we had Nandos for lunch and just chatted a lot...lol!
I can't get over my 1pound top. It looks so....not-1pound! LOL!
Came back with a bag of...eau de parfum =D
The shop was closing down and they basically sold one whole bag of perfumes outside the shop. One man was standing on the table and shouting, 'We are closing down! The shop is closing down! So we are selling this at a very cheap price because we need the money!'. Each of us bought one bag. LOL! (I sense a koi fish from my pond, in my condo, flying from Malaysia to hit me...the fish is innocent, mum! =p)
The first one...it's sealed so I don't want to open it but the bottle is nice!
The second...
I swear that is a picture of Scarlett Johanson and 'Lovely' is by Sarah Jessica Parker!!!

The bottle is so the cute! Using this first =)
The third...
Two in one...
Eau de parfum and luxury body lotion
The fourth...
I swear that bottle is 'Lovely' by Sarah Jessica Parker *confused*
And yes, 'Carrie' was 40GBP
Last but not least, a men's...'Curage Street Racing'
No idea what I am going to do with it...YET!
Yeap, he is 40GBP too! And there is a free 'Curage Surfing' miniature bottle inside too!
All 5 bottles of perfume and a bottle of lotion for...20GBP =) Some deal. Come to London people! LOL! Somehow there's this thing with me and 5item deals...LOL! Still waiting for my shoes! The weather is still crazy cold now!
Oh yes, finally someone from my shop called me! Morons! They told me I have a shift tomorrow. F*ck A*ses! Seriously! Their management sucks! But then again, I have good shifts this week so I will go to work =p If I get sucky shifts, I swear I will not go to work and say, "Ops...I've already made plans because the rota was not up on Saturday (it's supposed to be up by Thursday!) and no one called me when the manager say he'll call me to let me know on Saturday. Too bad but I actually have a life and SW is not even 80% of it! Thank you. Bye!". I like working in the shop as a customer service assistant but I just couldn't stand the horrible management!
